Idaho, trekking / hunting, Wildwood Condo

My first trip to Idaho was with Bill Wernicke in my Cessna 150/150 on January 1st of 1977.   To make a long story short, after many trips up there I fell in love with the place.

The Cessna 150 with the 150 hp engine conversion.

I spent a lot of time up there camping in my 1970 VW Westfalia camper.  Also a lot of ski trips to Sun Valley, staying in the Tyrolia Lodge at the base of the River Run lifts.  In 1984 I rented a condo for a whole month and shot my first elk [Sept 4, 1984] bow hunting.  That led to 25 years of bow hunting elk [and deer if they got in the way] in the Park Creek Basins above Ketchum.  Hunting and camping out of a camper was tough.  Cold, wet, tired, etc.

A lot of years camping in this Westy.

Upper College ski run on the Sun Valley ski mountain, looking down on Ketchum with the Sun Valley Lodge & Inn in the distance.   I was a “groomer” skier.

On October 4th of 1995 I bought a condo in Ketchum, Wildwood # 57, for $60,000 which I still have.   I could come back from hunting, hiking, and trekking to a nice warm, comfortable condo with a hot shower and easy walking distance to the finest restaurants!

The condo was built in 1971 and it looked it!   In 2007 I had it completely remodeled, floor plan was changed, new kitchen, bath, everything!
